Badoo

Blocked, not banned - that is Badoo’s word.
The appeal is in the notice.

Badoo’s own route is the form linked in the block notification, with a “dispute my block” support ticket as the fallback. You have six months.

The trap: dismissing the notification.

The form linked in the block notice is the route Badoo points you at. Screenshot it before it goes. After that you are on a support ticket.

Six months is the outside limit.

The window runs six months from the block, worldwide. It is a deadline, not a plan. Sooner is better.

Badoo publishes how often it says yes.

Its own 2025 EU transparency filing: 9,422 of 127,648 appeals reversed, 7.4%, median 2 hours 55 minutes. Badoo’s figures, not ours.

Appealing a Badoo block, step by step

1. Screenshot the notice before you lose it. The appeal form Badoo points you at is the one linked in the block notification. If it has already gone, the fallback is a dispute ticket through support: in-app, Profile, then the question mark at the top right, then Start Chat; on the web, Contact and FAQs, then Contact us, or the request form direct.

2. Check you are appealing a block and not a wall. Two states look identical from the outside and are not. A fraud-flagged profile may be “required to complete additional verification before regaining access”, and a suspected-underage block runs through Badoo’s ID check. Arguing your conduct at a verification wall gets you nowhere.

3. File once, and keep it civil. Badoo can stop processing appeals from someone who submits manifestly unfounded ones, so volume is a risk rather than a tactic. One filing: the dates, the likely trigger, what the decision misreads, what you want done.

4. Refused? Here is what is actually left. Not an EU referee. The certified dispute bodies under the Digital Services Act take Tinder, Hinge and Bumble cases, and none of them currently lists Badoo, so that door is shut. What is open: an access request under GDPR Article 15, the CCPA or your state law, for the reports and automated flags behind the block. Access, never erasure, which destroys your evidence and does not remove the record. If the access request is ignored, a data protection authority or the ICO is the thing that acts on it, and the Irish regulator’s published casework includes banned Tinder users whose accounts were reinstated after it took up exactly that. Then the money, which does not come from Badoo: its terms say blocked members are not entitled to refunds, so the routes that work are a refund from your own Apple or Google account, the EU and UK 14-day withdrawal right, and the three-business-day right in twelve US states. The BBB, in the US and Canada, builds a public record that stays visible for three years; your Attorney General logs the complaint as a pattern rather than deciding it. Neither lifts a block. The ladder covers each with filing instructions.

What Badoo does not publish

  • A decision time. There is no published target. Most decisions land within a day and some take weeks. No app promises a time, and neither do we.
  • The reason, unless you are in the EU. Badoo commits to telling you what it did for EU users. Elsewhere its terms reserve the right to block access without notice.
  • A standalone link to the appeal form. It is reached through the block notification, which is why that screenshot matters.
  • Whether a reversal gives you back your matches, chats or Credits. The terms cover the block itself. They do not address what returns when one is lifted.
  • Any cap on appeals, or a second-tier review after a refusal. What it does say is that manifestly unfounded submissions can stop being processed.
  • A support phone number. The documented routes are in-app chat and the web request form, so treat any phone call about your block as a scam.

What we do, and what stays yours

We build every route: the appeal wording, the access request, the money claim, the regulator complaint if the access request is ignored. We file every route in your name - online where there is a form, by signed post where there is not. We never ask for your password - account sharing breaches Badoo’s terms, and logging in as you would turn a possibly mistaken block into a justified one. We never guarantee reinstatement. The decision always belongs to the platform, and Badoo’s 7.4% is the lowest published reversal rate of any major dating app that reports one. That is the reason to send the calm version, once, inside the six months you have.

We build it. We file it. From $69.
