Suspended on happn?
You have 30 days - then it can be two years.

The appeal is a customer-service email, then a formal complaint at [email protected] - and a suspension nobody answers can become a termination with a two-year re-registration bar.

The notice is not the reason.

happn says only that you were reported and/or broke the Terms, and its terms say it need not justify a termination.

The clock is in Article 14.4, not the help centre.

No contact with customer service within 30 days of the suspension notice and happn may terminate, with re-registration barred for two years from the termination notice, unless that notice says otherwise.

Challenge it and a human has to look.

Where the decision came from its algorithms, happn’s terms say a challenge under Article 14.4 or Article 17 puts it under human review, always.

Two doors, not one.

happn says customer service will reactivate an account where the suspension is not justified. [email protected] is the formal complaint: free, six months to file, and a review inside 10 days.

Appealing a happn suspension, step by step

1. Date the notice first. A suspension is a safeguard measure with a clock on it; a termination carries a re-registration bar, two years unless the notice sets a different period. The 30 days run from the suspension notification, so screenshot everything and work from that date.

2. Rule out what is not a suspension. happn’s help centre says it does not use passwords, so a failed login proves little: repeated failed attempts can block access temporarily, and happn’s advice is to wait 24 hours. “Crush unavailable” is no proof either: happn lists a cancelled Crush and a paused account alongside a suspension. Only the notice settles it.

3. Write to customer service, with the identifiers they ask for. The suspension article says customer service will look into your case and reactivate the account if the suspension is not justified, and asks for the email or phone number you registered with and the name on the app. Article 14.4 and happn’s transparency report both describe suspension as following a prior warning, so if nothing arrived before yours, say so. Asked for an official ID? Send it: the terms let happn terminate if that proof never comes. The doors are the Submit a request form and [email protected]. We file this one in your name, in our wording, and copy you when it goes. We never ask for your password.

4. Then the formal complaint at [email protected]. happn’s internal complaint system names account suspension as a ground. You have six months from the notification, happn commits to a review not exceeding 10 days, and every complaint leads to a reassessment, abusive ones excepted. Keep it civil: a manifestly unfounded complaint made in bad faith is itself a breach. This route is written, so we draft it in full and it goes from your address, with us on the line. happn’s rules name no third-party channel, so your name on the email is what ties the complaint to the account.

5. Refused? Know which exit is real. happn’s rules point you to a certified dispute body or to court, but name no body, and no certified body we can find lists happn: the certified ones cover Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid and Bumble. What is left is the ladder happn does not control: the access request that makes them show what flagged you, and your data protection authority if it goes unanswered. The ladder covers each with filing instructions.

The 46-minute decision

In the first half of 2026 happn’s automated systems raised 671,236 fraud notices and suspended 642,445 accounts on them, averaging 46 minutes a decision. Behind all of it sit 21 moderators. Those are happn’s figures, not ours, and they are the argument for filing: those suspensions came off automated notices, and the challenge is what puts a human in front of the file. So name the pattern you may have matched. Two are in the terms in black and white - a first photo in which your face is not clearly recognisable, and an AI-generated image, which the terms prohibit outright. We never guarantee reinstatement. The decision belongs to happn.

Quick answers

Will I get the money back? Not from happn if it terminated you for a breach: its terms rule out reimbursement for subscribers and Pack buyers. On Google Play, inside 48 hours you use the Play refund flow; after that happn reviews a request only if you contact it within 14 days of purchase. That is a separate fight.

Should I start a new account, or delete this one? Neither. The terms bind you to one account and let happn delete the extras under the same Article 14.4. An erasure request is no cleverer: it removes no ban record and destroys your evidence. Ask for your file instead. Run the ladder first.
